5-Minute Stories
Twice As Good
When I looked at my untold stories, I knew I wanted to use this one for the highlight reel technique.
What is the story? The date is the story - twenty years ago on this date, my husband and I had our first date. The flowers on the trees were blooming that night, too, and I remember feeling like the whole world was blooming, so I used the flower picture to represent the day.
How does it begin? With a dinner out - at a restaurant that no longer exists. We couldn't recreate our date because the restaurant went out of business, but I wanted to include a picture of our real first date location, so I settled on the picture-in-picture approach.
What is the action? Walking hand-in-hand down the same streets we walked twenty years ago.
Who is telling the story? We are - so I handed dh my camera, and he included me in the story, too.
Where are the details? We had to pick a new date, so we had a fun, romantic evening of fondue dipping at the Melting Pot.
How does the story end? Driving back up the mountain to the home we made together.
(Apologies for the level of schmaltz here, but it's a sentimental kind of story.)
