First art journal - focal point
I didn't do much to define the focal points on my pages. I really just did one thing per page. Top left - I wanted the little picture my daughter had drawn to be the focal point, so I used a pen to highlight around the picture. Top right - this page really has no meaning besides "I like these colors". I added the hot air balloon brad because I wanted more of that teal color and I really like metallic accents on my scrappy pages so why not in my art journal? Bottom left - this page was starting to look like a setting sun/grassy area to me and I liked the idea of the butterfly flying around the sunset. Bottom right - I added some chipboard rain drops to go with the Rain Rain Go Away die cut I had added during the paper layers step.
