Required Supplies

Do you have all your supplies? Use this checklist to be sure you're not missing anything you'll need!

1. Patterned papers and cardstock You will need a variety of 12x12 patterned papers (make sure to choose a mixture of colours and patterns) and one sheet of plain cardstock in your preferred colour. You will also need one 12x12 sheet each of white cardstock and vellum to make the large background cutfile in lesson 4.
2. Basic tools and supplies All your regular basics such as craft knife, cutting mat, scissors, adhesive, etc. Include some mixed media basics such as paint brushes, paint spatula, palette and messy mat.
3. Art mediums - texture paste, paint, glitter, pens, inks Choose at least one texture paste, one glitter product, some watercolour paints and a stencil. Optional but ideal are fineline or gel pens (any colour) and liquid inks for splattering.
4. Dimensional foam sheets or squares We will be using these to add height and dimension. You can also use chipboard or foam tape.
5. Five photographs At least one photograph per layout - you can add more if you like!
6. Electronic or manual die cutting machine In one lesson we will be creating a large background die cut with an electronic die cutting machine. You can achieve a similar effect with a manual die cutting machine. If you have neither don't worry, you can use a pack of premade floral die cuts instead.
7. General embellishments This class focuses mostly on background techniques, but make sure to include some items to create titles and small embellishment clusters.
