Fundamentals of Exposure for Beginners
from my bathroom window
i love this time of year when the evening sun comes in through my bathroom window. love how the golden light gently falls on the latch and reflects on the blind. i shot this manual mode - my ISO was set to 1600 since i was shooting indoors. i chose an aperture of f/3.2 for a very shallow depth of field (i wanted the background to be blurred out). finally i overexposed the shot by 2/3 of a stop to brighten the shadowy areas of the shot which gave me a shutter speed of 1/3200. i could have lowered my ISO which would reduce some of the grain...i was just being lazy (ISO 1600 was what it was set on before). but i don't mind the grain in the case because i like the moodier feel to this shot.
hope you are finding these lessons and examples to be helpful. if you have any questions, feel free to leave a message in the classroom!
