Sunset in Medicine Hat
Interesting shot taken from the balcony of a hotel I was scrapbooking at, for a retreat, this past weekend. The natural light was captivating, especially since the colours seemed almost surreal! This photo also sort of fits the "composition" lesson. There was a semi truck parked below the balcony, so I lifted my camera to lesson the horizon/ground line and increase the amount of sky in the shot. Kind of fits the idea of negative space. Yet, it also BREAKS the rule of thirds since I would have typically liked the yellow bit of sunset to be a tad higher in the photograph. It really was a happy accident the semi was there though, because I like how this photo ended up.
